I love to cook and share my food, I was taught this at a very early age. I grew up in New York in an Italian-American family, so most of my recipes are inspired by my cultural background and also from living in California. My grandmother loved to cook and the joy she received from people enjoying her cooking was obvious. I feel that same joy now, cooking for friends and family. 

As a working mom, it's tough to balance, health, nutrition and tasty meals. I only use organic ingredients and avoid using any ingredients from a can. Since I live in California, I can go to a farmer's market all year long to find fresh tasty vegetables.

My Philosophy:

I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years, I never liked meat as a child. I love dairy, but the more I read about it from a personal health perspective and also about the dairy industry, the less I eat. I have consciously reduced my dairy. I rather not be categorized into one particular type of diet because we are all human. So in this site you will find recipes that are flexible, some you might even incorporate meat into if that's your thing.
